I started my Journey not knowing what I wanted to do or where I wanted to work, all I knew is that I wanted to improve people’s quality of life. This led me to enrol in a Cert IV relaxation massage course which introduced me to the world of natural therapies. What else can I say except that I fell in love. This led me to complete multiple courses within the massage industry and has inspired further study into Exercise Physiology.

I love the outdoor lifestyle of scuba diving, surfing and camping. Natural health healing, especially massage, has always been a great interest to me and I am very grateful to have made it my new career.  Years of working as a 3D Mechanical design draftsman meant a long hours of seated computer desk work. My chronic back condition gradually got worse and was greatly helped by Remedial massage, stretching, Chiropractic and Acupuncture therapy.

I am warm, honest and bubbly person. I love sports, outdoor activities and traveling. I truly believe that traveling can broaden our horizons and it certainly gave me an insight to many different natural healing modalities. I’m originally from a small country in Europe, called Slovenia where natural folk medicine is used in almost every home, connection to Nature is a way of life and helping each other is something we do. As I was growing up massage was something that was always present in my everyday life. I’ve learned the most from my aunt that was doing Reflexology 30 years ago and gaining her knowledge from monks in Nepal it was always something that I was really attracted to and wanted to learn more. So life has given me a beautiful gift of helping others with my touch and it’s something I really love doing.

Param Satya

Principal Yoga Instructor

yoga brisbane param satya principal yoga instructor with 28 years yoga teaching experience. Param has taught many of Brisbane's best instructors

When I look at my years in Yoga, I find that I have been doing yoga for more than half my life. My yoga practice did not begin with the asanas or postures as such. It began with the yoga philosophy that I came across in the United States in the 1980's. There I was drawn to a disciplined lifestlye of a predictable mind and body. With a focused mind anything can be achieved.

Liza Markova

Yoga Instructor

Clinical Myotherapist

Since early years I’ve been interested in philosophy and cultures of Asian countries, especially India. I admired their belief that a person exists on many different levels – physical, intellectual, energetic etc. That’s why I started exploring those healing systems that would have a holistic approach and worked on the whole personality, rather than just parts of physical body, like in fitness or sports. I fell in love with yoga for its ancient wisdom and spirituality.

My interest in massage stems from a history of repeated injuries due to competitive dancing. I wanted to learn and assist others to continue with their passion even when injury arises and how to prevent injuries in the future. I started doing my Cert IV in Relaxation massage and now I have progressed toward a Diploma in Remedial Therapy. I have an interest in psychology and have educated myself in understanding the holistic side to massage.
