I went to Knead for the first time today for a remedial massage. When I walked in Makira had already read my online medical history, she asked a series of follow up questions then got stuck into the massage. I had the 60 minutes and felt wonderful afterwards. Definitely going back.

Makira was so lovely and made me feel really comfortable. Really great remedial massage, I’ll go back to Knead massage to see Makira again. Thanks!
The person who looked after me (Makira) took not only the time to listen to me but the time to talk to me. Many will think that this just takes time away from the actual massage. But you could not be more wrong, this time is to make sure that she worked on the places that meant I got only the best of the full amount of time I was allotted. This was so good that I have organised a fortnightly session. This place is one of the best places I have ever been and I have travelled extensively and have had a lot of experience with massage therapy due to injury and for relaxation. This is the best of the best.
Makira did a great job helping me with my upper back pain. Recommended 10/10
Quite possibly the best massage I’ve had. Highly recommend Makira and Liza.
Massage Therapist Brisbane What are treatments like with Makira?
With experience as both a professional dancer and a massage therapist – I have unique insights into the needs of high-performance athletes. I specialize in providing expert sports massage and have extensive experience working with Australian Rules athletes in Brisbane. In addition to addressing tension and pain, my broader remedial massage style incorporates techniques such as muscle release, dry needling, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, stretching, and joint mobilisation. Remedial Massage assessment techniques efficiently identify the root cause of pain and provide a range of methods to increase mobility and reduce pain.
Communication is key to any successful treatment – and I practice a methodical hands-on approach, that offers home care strategies for self-maintenance and maximum treatment benefits.
My areas of interest include neck pain, tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, plantar fasciitis massage, shoulder pain, arm and wrist pain, low back pain, sports preparation and recovery, and pregnancy massage. It’s a pleasure to support pregnant clients and see the positive impact of remedial massage on their well-being. If you are looking for a Brisbane massage therapist with experience and dedication please consider booking with me.
What do I love about being a remedial massage therapist?
My background in dance has made me hyper-aware of how my body moves, and I am amazed by how much freedom and relief can be restored through massage. I have found therapeutic touch to be beneficial both mentally and physically, and I love the power that massage can have. As a remedial massage therapist, I find it rewarding to become part of someone’s overall support system.
