Positive: Quality
Liza Markova is amazing! I have been seeing her since 2018! As a runner with very tight glutes and sciatic nerve pain, Liza has used a range of techniques to help relieve my pain, loosen my muscles and provide strength and stretching exercises. Dry needling and cupping have been so effective for me.
What are my treatments like?
Following a functional medicine model of treatment, I look for underlying imbalances such as sleep, diet, exercises, stress, social environment etc. I also believe that collaboration between a client and a therapist is very important for the achievement of the desired health goals.
As a Myotherapist I can draw upon advanced skills such as joint mobilization, myofascial release, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), neural manipulation, taping, dry needling and electro needling, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Vagus nerve stimulation, exercise therapy, functional movement assessment and prescription.
I believe that part of a being a therapist includes educating the client on how to eliminate existing symptoms and how to prevent future injuries. Therefore, my treatments continue outside of the clinic walls by encouraging you to cultivate body awareness and by performing a prescribed exercise program and following up with you consistently. This is where my experience as a yoga teacher is very useful.
