The person who looked after me (Makira) took not only the time to listen to me but the time to talk to me. Many will think that this just takes time away from the actual massage. But you could not be more wrong, this time is to make sure that she worked on the places that meant I got only the best of the full amount of time I was allotted. This was so good that I have organised a fortnightly session. This place is one of the best places I have ever been and I have travelled extensively and have had a lot of experience with massage therapy due to injury and for relaxation. This is the best of the best.
Amazing remedial massage, highly recommend Makira. She listened to all my concerns and tailored my massage to me perfectly. If you’ve got sore muscles and knots this is the place to go!
Makira focussed on my specific injury and the whole remedial and needling treatment was deliberate and strong. I’m feeling noticeable relief from my neck pain so far!
Makira was so lovely and made me feel really comfortable. Really great remedial massage, I’ll go back to Knead massage to see Makira again. Thanks!
Makira did a great job helping me with my upper back pain. Recommended 10/10
Pathway to Present
I began my career as a physiotherapist in a hospital in Japan, where I worked with a wide range of clients and conditions. I’ve always had a strong connection to movement and staying active, growing up playing volleyball, swimming, badminton, and continuing to enjoy running.
I moved to Australia to further develop my English and expand my career opportunities. Transitioning into remedial massage and myotherapy felt like a natural progression, allowing me to build on my physiotherapy foundation in a more hands-on, personalised way.
I am currently completing my Myotherapy qualification, graduating in 2027. This will further enhance my skills in assessment, dry needling, advanced MET and MFR techniques, and allow me to effectively treat conditions such as tendinopathies and radiculopathies.
Today, I provide personalised treatments tailored to each individual, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. I understand that even when using similar techniques, everybody responds differently—so I adapt each treatment to suit the person in front of me.
What are my treatments like?
My treatments are designed to strike a balance between therapeutic effectiveness and relaxation. I aim to deliver real, lasting results while ensuring each session feels comfortable and restorative.
With my physiotherapy background, I have a strong focus on treating neck and shoulder tension, particularly for clients experiencing discomfort from desk work. I take the time to understand each client’s condition and tailor every session accordingly.
I work with a wide range of clients and conditions, including lower back pain, foot issues, and tennis elbow. By combining targeted techniques with a personalised approach, I aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for each individual.
I’m proud to have built strong relationships with many returning clients who trust my care and approach.
What I Love About Massage
What I love most about massage is the ability to support people both physically and mentally. It’s incredibly rewarding to see clients leave feeling more relaxed, refreshed, and comfortable in their bodies.
I’m fascinated by how each person responds differently to treatment—no two sessions are ever the same, which keeps the work engaging and meaningful.
I’m passionate about helping people improve their quality of life through treatment, and I’m committed to continually developing my skills so I can provide care that is both highly effective and deeply relaxing.
