A Bit About Me
I originally worked as a Recruitment Officer in Thailand for over four years, where I was responsible for sourcing and connecting with people from many different backgrounds. This role helped me develop strong communication and relationship-building skills, and gave me a real appreciation for understanding people and their individual needs.
Alongside this career, I discovered my passion for massage and wellness. I trained in Thai Massage and Beauty Therapy, including facial massage, and have also completed additional training in sports massage and trigger point therapy. I’m currently studying Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Over the past five years I have continued developing my hands-on skills and experience in the massage industry.
In my free time I love staying active. I enjoy swimming, cycling, boxing, weight training and going to the gym, and whenever possible I take part in triathlons and running events. Staying active is an important part of my lifestyle and helps me better understand the body, movement and recovery.
Who Will Benefit From My Treatments
My treatments are suitable for a wide range of people, from athletes to office workers, and anyone experiencing tension, tight muscles or stress.
I combine relaxation massage, deep tissue techniques, traditional Thai massage, trigger point therapy, stretching and cupping. Every session is tailored to the individual so that we can achieve the best possible results for your body.
My goal is to help clients relieve discomfort, improve mobility and leave the treatment feeling both physically better and mentally refreshed. By blending deeper therapeutic work with relaxation techniques, I aim to support recovery while also helping clients feel calm and restored.
What I Love About Massage
My journey into massage started with a simple wish – I wanted to massage my grandmother and help her feel better. That experience became the beginning of my passion for helping others through touch and care.
Seeing my clients feel relief after a treatment inspires me every day. I believe massage is both a science and an art. It can support healing in the body while also helping to relax and brighten the mind.
I always give my best care to every client because I genuinely care about their wellbeing. In the future I hope to continue expanding my knowledge and developing my technical skills so I can provide even better treatments and support my clients’ health.

The person who looked after me (Makira) took not only the time to listen to me but the time to talk to me. Many will think that this just takes time away from the actual massage. But you could not be more wrong, this time is to make sure that she worked on the places that meant I got only the best of the full amount of time I was allotted. This was so good that I have organised a fortnightly session. This place is one of the best places I have ever been and I have travelled extensively and have had a lot of experience with massage therapy due to injury and for relaxation. This is the best of the best.
Amazing remedial massage, highly recommend Makira. She listened to all my concerns and tailored my massage to me perfectly. If you’ve got sore muscles and knots this is the place to go!
Makira focussed on my specific injury and the whole remedial and needling treatment was deliberate and strong. I’m feeling noticeable relief from my neck pain so far!
Makira was so lovely and made me feel really comfortable. Really great remedial massage, I’ll go back to Knead massage to see Makira again. Thanks!
Makira did a great job helping me with my upper back pain. Recommended 10/10
What are treatments like with Makira?
Coming from a dance background, Makira graduated from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in 2018 and has performed through the USA, UK, Taiwan and across Australia. She has always held an interest in the moving body, and this is part of what drove her to complete her diploma of remedial massage in early 2020.
Makira enjoys working with people and bodies of all different kinds. She has a particular interest in treating headaches and neck pain, however enjoys working across the whole body, assisting with general health and wellbeing through her use of trigger point therapy, myofascial release, active and assisted stretching, gentle joint mobilisation, dry needling, and myofascial cupping. Her favourite style blends remedial based modalities with a relaxation based flow, however she also enjoys delivering a targeted – and at times, firm – treatment aiming to reduce pain and improve physical function. Additionally, Makira is currently exploring training options related to massage for cerebral palsy.
Outside of the clinic, Makira works as a Sports Therapist for the AFL umpires, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
