The first thing I studied when I left high school was massage. I have for over 15 years been doing Swedish massage from home or out of several gyms where I work as a personal trainer. As I have always had an interest in helping to keep people's bodies strong, healthy and balanced. That led me to my Diploma in Remedial Massage and Bachelor of Health Science in Musculoskeletal Therapy to take that knowledge to the next level. I have had many health issues and injuries that give me a very personal interest, understanding and knowledge in helping others find balance in their lives.
MST involves a more in depth assessment including biomechanics, exercise, rehab prescription and works not only with soft tissue, but encompasses other structures such as joints, tendons and ligaments and nerve pathways.
Anyone suffering low back pain, vertebral disc degeneration, TMJ, Chronic headaches, migraines, joint, muscle and tendon injuries will benefit. I may use techniques such as manual muscle release, joint mobilization, nerve pathway release, cupping, dry needling and taping. My goal is for all anyone from general public with a painful condition to sports enthusiasts and athletes a like stay injury free and able to enjoy their quality of life or sport to the full.
Working as a PT and Remedial Therapist I have an excellent understanding of the demands of a training schedule and the need for regular maintenance as well as injury management. I can tailor our Remedial sessions to support your training regime, help you understand imbalances so you know where to lengthen, what to strengthen and when to rest. My goal for all general sports enthusiasts and athletes alike is to help them stay injury free and able to enjoy their sport or activity of choice.
I feel anyone can benefit from my treatments from those just feeling stressed out to those with a specific health injury. I have the knowledge to help general tension issues to the very specific and painful injuries and everything in between. My extensive rehab and exercise prescription experience will advise you on the best way to keep the pain and tension away for longer.
I have spent most of my adult life learning ways to help others improve their health and fitness. A general sense of health is the most valuable thing they have and I love to inspire others about how to get the most out of their body and their life.
