Pathway to the Present
After spending a few years unable to decide what to do with my life I took a couple of years out at the age of 26 to work and travel in Europe. While there I thought one day I would finally get a massage as I had never had one before! Unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience and I did not enjoy it especially for the amount of money I paid for it as it seemed the therapist was bored and uninterested in the job she was doing. After that it took 2 years before my friends could convince me to try getting another massage from a therapist that came highly recommended and one hour later I felt fantastic. All my tension had gone, my muscles felt great and I had the best sleep I can remember having in a long time.
What are my treatments like?
I like to use traditional Swedish massage while incorporating remedial techniques for the most comfortable experience with maximal relief of pain, tension, stress and correction of posture. I offer traditional Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, sports, Remedial massage and postural analysis. Who will benefit most from my treatment style? The majority of my regular clients see me for Remedial treatments which is where my technical strengths are focussed. Learning at Q Academy gave me an excellent grounding in postural analysis and Remedial techniques such as myofacial release, met and pnf and trigger point. Clients will get the best results if they are prepared to commit to at least a few treatments preferably close together. Remedial is a massage style that is specific and focussed and results are best when the time is taken to release fascia and trigger points slowly. Remedial and deep tissue are excellent for sports people, old injuries, stiffness and lack of mobility.
What do I love about Massage?
I have always thought the human body is one of the most fascinating things to learn about. It is amazingly complex and can be very fragile yet in many ways very robust and resilient. I especially enjoy the sense of satisfaction that arises after working with a client and seeing a continuous increase in their wellbeing. It is great to see people willing to commit to working on themselves and enjoying the results that go with that commitment.
