My pathway to the present

Ever since my younger years I've been interested in oriental philosophy. I admire the belief that a person exists on many different levels - physical, intellectual, energetic etc. That's why I started to explore those healing systems that have a holistic approach and work on the whole person.

I started practising yoga in 2004 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2010. After a few years of yoga instruction and numerous workshops on movement therapy I decided to deepen my knowledge of human anatomy and physiology by taking a course in Musculokeletal Therapy. Very soon I was captivated by the amount of knowledge and skills that this degree offered. The ability to help people live a healthier life is very rewarding.

What are my treatments like?

I use a holistic approach in my assessment and treatment, addressing both symptoms and causes of pain. Following a functional medicine model of treatment, I look for underlying imbalances that may contribute to the development of illness, such as sleep, diet, exercises, stress, social environment etc. I also believe that collaboration between a client and a therapist is very important for the achievement of the desired health goals.

I constantly advance my skills to make my treatments as effective as possible. Among the treatment techniques that I use are: joint mobilization, myofascial release, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), neural manipulation, taping, dry needling and electro needling, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), Vagus nerve stimulation, exercise therapy, etc.

Some of the many conditions that I treat:

·         Muscular pain and tightness

·         Incorrect posture and impaired movement

·         Reduced range of motion due to muscular or joint restrictions

·         Neck, chest, and low back pain

·         Joint pain, sprains and strains

·         Cervicogenic headaches

·         Tendinopathies (e.g. tennis elbow)

·         Neurological pain incl. pins, tingling, numbness

·         Sport injuries

I believe that part of a being a therapist includes educating the client on how to eliminate existing symptoms and how to prevent future injuries. Therefore, my treatments continue outside of the clinic walls by encouraging you to cultivate body awareness and by performing a prescribed exercise program. This is where my experience as a yoga teacher is very useful.
