The focus of a Mind-Body Medicine Treatment is to address the mental and emotional facets of the client’s life that are impacting on the physical body. We pinpoint which feelings, reactions or attitudes are impacting negatively on their overall health and wellbeing by creating stress.

Some major causes of daily stress include parenting and relationship problems, work overload or issues within the workplace, monetary worries, bad nutrition, addictions, grief and loss, chronic or intermittent pain, lack of energy or vitality and confusion regarding life-choices or direction.A comprehensive history is taken that includes immediate and long-term goals, recurring problems, diet, lifestyle, work and physical history, wellbeing and happiness, energy and stress levels. A treatment plan is then devised, with an emphasis on having choices in the present – changing patterned behaviour in positive ways so more flexibility and freedom can be utilized to improve your current situation.

It is an incredibly flexible therapy which helps you to build-up your skills by educating and improving your understanding of the subconscious influences governing behaviour. The Treatment Plan may include anything from learning how to improve your Time Management and prioritising abilities, to calming your mind through easy meditation techniques, improving your overall nutrition to support your wellbeing, dealing with difficult people without feeling hurt or angry, addressing parenting issues with a view to improve the happiness levels of all people involved, improving emotional intelligence and the ability to be emotionally articulate – a lack of these skills can lead to unnecessary stress on the body and chronic illness. It is unique to each person and their situation.A shorter option for treatment which suits workplaces, employees and those in a hurry but are experiencing Stress, Low Energy or Pain is Ear Acupressure Point Therapy. Specific Pain, Stress and Energy Level issues are targeted with the use of indigenous Flower Essences in both the acupressure point and a footbath. This treatment goes for 20 minutes, 45 minutes if you have Reiki or Massage as well.
